14. Who’s To Say What’s Reality?

“Lunaaaaa!” I heard Cassie yelling through the forest behind me. “Lunaaaaaa!”

“God, if you love me, you won’t tell her where I am.” I prayed as I stayed on my back, staring up at the sky.

“Hi, Luna!” Cassie waved as she walked over.

“Who told you where I was?” I asked, squinting from the light.

“Orion.”

I stared up at the sky in silence for a few moments before pointing and yelling, “That’s not funny!”

“Who’re you talking to?” she stared blankly at me.

“Oh, just someone who thinks it’s funny to do what I say.” I sighed, getting up. “So. What am I supposed to do?”

“Huh?” she cocked her head to the side, still staring blankly.

“Didn’t you say there was this big battle thingy going on? With like vampires and stuff?”

“Well, mainly just the vamps an werewolves,” she stared up at the sky thoughtfully. “Yeah, just them now, the others settled things over a giant party.”

“Okay… what’s the deal?” I yawned and slumped to the ground poking at random wildflowers with a blade of grass.

“Territory stuff. New land was discovered and they both want it, so they’ve been in a war. A veryyyyy bloody war,” she said with giant eyes.

“Oh. Who’s in charge?”

“You.”

“I meant of the individual parties.”

“Oh. That would be. Uhm. What were their names…” she wondered around in a trance-like state until she hit a giant boulder and fell down. “King Fenrisúlfur and Lady Sirena.” Cassie blurted suddenly then gasped. “I… I can think again.”

I stared at her blankly “Cassie, how hard did you hit your head?”

“Hard enough to be able to understand that I’ve been acting incredibly stupid for the past few years.” She returned my blank stare. “NO WAY!” we shrieked at the same time.

“That’s great and all, but where do we go to see the peoples in charge?”

“Um…” she fidgeted for a moment then tossed the giant boulder she had run into to the side. “The button’s here, I think… AHA!” I heard a click then everything went black and we were falling through nothing.

“WHAT DID YOU DO?!” I screamed.

“I think she pressed the exit button.” Orion yawned from somewhere behind me.
